What is the course about and why do I need it?
This free online course teaches you everything you need to operate a boat safely and legally in South Carolina including navigation rules, safety equipment, handling emergencies, and protecting the environment.
In South Carolina, boaters born after July 1, 2007 are required by law to pass an approved boater education course before operating a boat, personal watercraft, or a specialty propcraft powered by 10 hp motor or more.
